Manchester United cruised into the Champions League
Wednesday with an easy 4-0 romp at Club Brugge, with captain Wayne
Rooney banging in a memorable hat-trick and Ander Herrera completing
the rout.
United cruised through on a comfortable 7-1 aggregate, having won the
first leg 3-1 at Old Trafford last week.
Bayer Leverkusen also booked their place in the League with a 3-0
home thrashing of Lazio, thus going through on a tight 3-1 aggregate.
The comeback of the night belonged to CSKA Moscow, who came from 1-0
down to beat Sporting Lisbon 3-1 - with a brace from Seydou Doumbia -
and go through 4-3. Meanwhile, BATE Borisov lost 2-1 at Partizan
Belgrade but went through on the away goals rule after a 2-2 tie
overall.
Also, Astana of Khazhakstan booked their ticket with a late 1-1 draw
at APOEL Nicosia, which put them through 2-1.
