German champions FC Bayern Munich have renewed their long-running partnership with Audi.

The new deal, announced during the ongoing Audi Cup pre-season tournament hosted by Bayern, will run until 30th June 2025, taking the partnership to 23 years.

The previous agreement between the club and the Ingolstadt-based automotive group had been due to expire in 2019. As well as serving as one of the club's top-tier main partners alongside Adidas, Allianz and T-Mobile, Audi also owns an 8.33 per cent stake in the Bundesliga giants.

Financial terms of the new sponsorship have not been formally released but Sponsors.de estimates it to be worth around €10 million (US$10.9 million) a year in financial and in-kind support.

"We are delighted and very proud to now continue the current partnership with Audi into the next decade," said Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

"Audi is a great partner with whom we will cooperate very innovatively in the years ahead of us here in Germany, but also worldwide."

Bayern take on Real Madrid in the final of this year's Audi Cup later on Wednesday.
