Serena Williams continues to dominate the latest world
rankings released Monday by the WTA with Garbine Muguruza hitting
fifth after a strong performance in Wuhan, China, last week.
United States star Williams leads on 11,285 points with Romania's
Simona Halep on 6,670 and Russia's Maria Sharapova trailing on 4,692.
Muguruza withdrew injured from the Wuhan final against Venus Williams
but still moved up three places to fifth. Karolina Pliskova and
Angelique Kerber entered the top 10 in ninth and 10th respectively
with Carla Suarez Navarro (12th) and Ana Ivanovic (15th) dropping
out.
