VfL Wolfsburg don't expect a change in support by the Volkswagen Group in connection with the exhaust-testing affair engulfing Europe's biggest carmakers, the Bundesliga club said Thursday. "I am pretty sure that there will be no change," managing director Klaus Allofs said. "I am convinced it doesn't depend on individuals." Volkswagen chief executive Martin Winterkorn resigned on Wednesday over the affair in which Volkswagen admitted installing sophisticated software in 11 million diesel models aimed at beating exhaust tests. The Wolfsburg club became a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group during Winterkorn's tenure and are said to receive a high double digit figures in millions of euros (dollars). Champions League team Wolfsburg were surprise Bundesliga champions in 2009 and won the German cup last season. They are currently fourth in the league. Volkswagen group members Audi are main sponsors of Bundesliga club Ingolstadt and also engaged as one of four main partners of national champions Bayern Munich. | |||||
