Galatasaray were held to a 2-2 draw at minnows Astana
Wednesday, in an error-strewn Champions League Group B clash.
Galatasaray took the lead through Bilal Kisa in the 31st minute, only
for Astana - the first ever club from Kazhakhstan in the competition
- to draw level thanks to a clumsy own goal from Hakan Balta.
The visitors continued to dominate and their lead was restored when
Astana goalkeeper Nenad Eric gifted them an own goal just four
minutes from time.
However, two minutes later, Roger Canas took advantage of some sloppy
defending from Galatasaray to make it 2-2 to the hosts.
Later Wednesday, Manchester United were to host Wolfsburg, Manchester
City were to visit Borussia Moenchangladbach - in another
English-German clash - and 2014 winner Real Madrid were to visit
Malmo.
