Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been charged with
misconduct by the Football Association after claiming his side is
badly treated by officials.
The Portuguese said referees and assistant referees were "afraid" to
give Chelsea penalties while expressing anger at decisions that went
against them in the champions' 3-1 home defeat by Southampton
Saturday.
The FA said: "It is alleged his remarks constitute improper conduct
in that they allege and/or imply bias on the part of a match official
or match officials and/or bring the game into disrepute.
Mourinho, who has until 6 pm (1700 GMT) Thursday to respond, went on
to say that the FA could do what it liked.
"If the Football Association wants to punish me, they can," he said.
"They don't punish other managers."
Chelsea have lost four of their eight league games this season,
leaving them with eight points, 10 points off the pace.
